1. She’s seen you at your worst–terrible twos, teenage angst, hungover or injured (probably after doing something stupid)–and she loves you anyways.
  2. She carried you for 9 months. You were heavy.
  3. She’s still the call you make when things aren’t going your way.
  4. It doesn’t matter if she gave you her top secret recipe–it just tastes better when she makes lasagna.
  5. She’s gone from being enemy number one to your partner in crime when tackling a bottle of Pinot Gris.
  6. You know she doesn’t have all the answers, but she always seems to have the answers you need.
  7. She will never lead you astray–and will tell you if those pants make you look funny.
  8. She laughs at your jokes, even when they really aren’t funny.
  9. Mom hugs can turn any frown upside down.
  10. She’s real–she talks smack to your face and compliments you behind your back.
  11. She’s yours.

Tell your mom how much you love her and thank her for being awesome. You should probably do it every day, but since there’s a Hallmark holiday coming up on Sunday, now is a good time to start.
