Slow Cooker Apple Cinnamon Steel Cut Oats

Recently I’ve been inspired to make some delicious meals in a slow cooker. All you got to do is put all the ingredients, set it on low or high, depending on the recipe, and go about your day. One of my favourite things that I enjoy making is steel cut oats for breakfast, especially this one that tastes like apple pie. This steel cut oats is wonderfully creamy, wholesome, and filling. What a perfect way to start the day!

INGREDIENTS:

2 apples, peeled, cored, cut into 1/2-inch pieces
1 can coconut milk
11⁄2 cups water
1 cup uncooked steel cut oats
2 tablespoons brown sugar (or maple syrup)
1⁄2 teaspoon cinnamon
1 tablespoon chia seeds
1⁄4 teaspoon salt

DIRECTIONS:

Coat inside of the slow cooker with cooking spray.
Add all ingredients into slow cooker.
Stir, cover, and cook on low for approximately 8 hours (slow cooker times can vary). Spoon oatmeal into bowls.
Store leftovers in refrigerator. This oatmeal freezes well.

This fragrant, hearty oatmeal tastes like apple pie and incredibly easy to make! Make it a yummy day!
