The true soldier fights not because he hates what is in front of him, but because he loves what is behind him.
– G.K. Chesterton
On November 11 we remember all Canadian veterans and servicemen who fought, and continue to fight to give their loved ones and future generations the privilege to live in a free country. As we mourn the loss of thousands upon thousands of our nation’s sons and daughters, we are also forever grateful for their acts of selfless bravery.
The North Vancouver Remembrance Day commemoration ceremonies will take place Wednesday, November 11, 10:30 AM, at the Victoria Park Cenotaph. The ceremony will be followed by a parade by Veterans and others from the Cenotaph to the Armories on Forbes Avenue.
