Both City and District of North Vancouver fire departments battled a blaze at the waterfront grain plant near Lonsdale Quay on Wednesday night.
Experts say the fire started in the cooling fan of the pellet plant. Smoke could be seen billowing out of the ducts and pipes. The flames were difficult to access and as a result, two firefighters were treated for smoke inhalation.
A spokesperson for Richardson International, the company who operates the grain storage plant said that operations will resume today.
Kudos to the NV City and District firefighters for containing this one in a timely fashion.
No one was injured.
